A protected URL allows us to pre‑set your organisation name and membership type, and automatically verify applicants — making the registration process faster, simpler, and far more seamless for your learners, members, or staff.
To use this option, you’ll just need a secure area on your website that only logged‑in users can access. Once embedded, anyone who clicks the protected URL from that area will have their TOTUM application instantly verified.
We’ll provide the protected URL as a small piece of HTML code that you can easily embed within your CMS. This ensures that verification is correctly applied every time.
In order to set up a protected URL for your organisation, you must meet some technical and business requirements:
- Be registered with TOTUM
- Your organisation must operate a website
- The website must have a private secure area that is protected behind an account login
- The private area must be restricted to learners/members and staff only
- The private area must be protected by an authentication mechanic (such as a username/password)

Once we have received your verification link request your exclusive protected URL will be set up within 1 week.
