If your applicants are not issued with an email address from your institution and you do not have an SSO portal registered with UK Federation, we can enable manual verification for them to use.


Once this option is active on your account all of your applicants will see the option to 'verify with document' following entering your organisation name on the application.

Once supporting evidence is uploaded the applicant can proceed with their application, and one of our support team will review the evidence for them.

6th form, college or university student

Acceptable evidence includes;

  • Letter or email confirming enrollment/student status
  • Screenshot of a student portal
  • Student ID card (with expiry date)

The following details must be clear and legible on the piece of evidence you provide;

  • Name
  • Place of study
  • Current course dates


Online/professional student

Acceptable evidence includes;

  • Letter or email confirming enrollment/student status
  • Screenshot of a student portal

The following details must be clear and legible on the piece of evidence you provide;

  • Name
  • Place of study

Professional Body or Trade Union Member

Acceptable evidence includes;

  • Letter or email confirming professional body membership / trade union membership 
  • Screenshot of professional member / trade union portal

The following details must be clear and legible on the piece of evidence you provide;

  • Name
  • Membership body / trade union name


Academic, Professional or Apprentice organisation staff

Acceptable evidence includes;

  • Letter or email confirming employment at a 6th form, college, university, online course/training/apprenticeship provider, professional membership body or trade union
  • Screenshot of institute staff portal
  • Staff ID card 

The following details must be clear and legible on the piece of evidence you provide;

  • Name
  • Place of employment


Graduate/Alumni

Acceptable evidence includes;

  • Letter or email confirming graduation
  • Award certificate
  • Proof of holding a TOTUM membership within the past 3 years

The following details must be clear and legible on the piece of evidence you provide;

  • Name
  • Place of study you graduated from
  • Graduation date within the past 3 years
